The Short Drop-off is a steep reef wall turning toward the open sea. At the corner, the drop off will gradually change to a massive deep plateau. It got its name due to its proximity to Koror. White Tips, Gray Reef & Black Tip Reef sharks, large variety of soft and hard corals, large school of Batfish, Blue tail Jacks, parrotfish & Butterfly fish & wrasses, Eagle Rays & Octopus are just some of the species found under water. September-November this is a nursery for baby Gray Reef Sharks. Schools of juvenile sharks, 10 inches in length accompanied by an adult female, patrol the water at around 100 feet.
