Apra Harbor is sheltered by Calalan bank, Glass Breakwater and Cabras Island in the north. This shallow harbor is filled with excellent hard corals and many shipwrecks, planes and military vessels that sank here during WWII with the Japanese invasion and again when the Americans recovered it. These wrecks are great for novice divers and experienced wreck divers since they can enter some of the most significant shipwrecks in the world.
Some of the world famous wrecks include the Tokai Maru and SMS Cormoran, two completely different ships that happen to be sitting on top of each other. Around the shores north of the Orote Peninsula you can find great hard coral reefs including Hidden Reef, Fingers Reef and GabGab Reef. Pay attention to the Atlantis, a very nice submarine that shows non-diving tourists, how the underwater world looks like. Marine life includes all the common coral reef fish, anemone fish, triggerfish and puffers.
