Majuro Atoll is the capital of the Marshall Islands but still remote enough not to be overrun by tourists.

Majuro Atoll is the best visited island and capital of the Marshall Islands. Together with Darrit, Uliga and Delap (or DUD) they house over 30.000 inhabitants, being one of the largest 'metropolis' in Micronesia. It is a perfect base for scuba diving at the outer reefs, but also for some evening entertainment, excellent dining and the hometown of the cultural Alele Museum. This museum offers many artifacts such as canoes but also many colonial pictures made by the Americans, Germans and Japanese.

One of the main features on Majuro are its many in fish covered steep pinnacles that litter the ocean floor and inner lagoon. But there are also some spectacular wrecks, steep walls, some of the best hard coral plateaus and virgin unspoilt reefs. Dive sites such as Delap Point and Kalalin Channel will be marked in your memory where you can see large schools of jacks and red snapper. The small Aneko Island and Bokolap Island offer stunning reefs and many excellent dive sites. The outer atoll dive sites offer strong currents and regular sightings of reef sharks, but also pilot whales, silky sharks and oceanic white tips are regularly spotted. You can also take a look at a B-24 Liberator and a F6F Hellcat airplane.
